Association of Ringing Teachers (ART)
ART is a charity dedicated to improving the education of ringers. It offers a structured learning programme for new ringers, and trains and accredits ringing teachers. If you are interested in learning to ring, ART offers to put you in touch with a nearby teacher. Our project is aiming to make St Clement's an ART accredited teaching centre.
Cambridge University Guild of Change Ringers (CUGCR)
The society for student ringers in Cambridge, founded 1879. As well as an active Cambridge-based society, with several weekly ringing and social events, it is a worldwide alumni network with a diary including an annual Guild Dinner and week's ringing holiday and other regional events. The CUGCR is supporting this project. It should help it to further extend and improve its extensive teaching programme.
Ely Diocesan Association of Church Bell Ringers (EDA)
The Cambridge District is a part of this larger association, which offers ringing, training, socialising and support to ringers across the Ely Diocese. The EDA is supporting this project, which will create a great resource for not only the city of Cambridge but the whole association.
St Clement's Church, Cambridge
A Church of England parish church at the centre of Cambridge. It is one of Cambridge's oldest churches. Our project aims to create a bell ringing heritage and training centre here.
The Society of Cambridge Youths (SCY)
The society dedicated to ringing the bells of Great St Mary's, Cambridge. They ring together several times a week, for church services at GSM and for pleasure. Established in 1724, it is the second oldest continually existing ringing society in the world. The SCY is promoting this project alongside the CUGCR and EDA.
